Hexagon table

2008
Burl elm from Copenhagen

This table was designed for an exhibition project in collaboration with Tasmania called "4 squared".

The table is made out of burl Elm wood from a famous square in the central Copenhagen. in 1997 there was an Elm disease in Denmark and the big Elm trees on the square died. I had one of the large burls cut in slats and cured them for 10 years.

The slats could make a hexagon shape and in the center, I have placed a Granite plate. Granite is only danish rock type from Bornholm.

The project was supported by

Grosserer L.F.Foghts Fond
